SEI Academy Charter School Teacher
(Full-time position)


    • 6th Grade Mathematics

SEI Academy Charter School Teacher is responsible for curriculum implementation, classroom instruction and supervision of students at the middle school level. Ideal candidates will possess a sincere passion and enthusiasm for working with youth and families of various social, education and economic backgrounds, and teaching students with diverse learning capabilities. The SEI Academy Teacher is a creative teacher who can engage students and induce creative thinking and enthusiasm for learning, and help students achieve academic benchmarks.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Highly Qualified in required subject matter.
  • At least 3 years of teaching experience; preferably at the middle school level.
  • Must have proven expertise, knowledge and skills in the related subject matter.
  • Effective classroom management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to garner student’s interest and accountability regarding classroom participation and expectation.
  • Provides instruction, organization and management in the classroom that creates an environment conducive to learning.
Salary Range: Based on credentials

In School Coordinator – Elementary Level
(Full-time position)

The In School Service Coordinator implements SEI’s school-based program for 25-50 students at a specific school site. This is a full time position that reports to the Program Level Manager.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology or a related field is required. A minimum of two (2) years of college level study plus (2) years of experience directly working with youth in an educational environment may be substituted for education require­ment.
  • Ability to successfully provide case management to 25-50 youth including but not limited to individual and group counseling.
  • Ability to be a positive role model for young people.
  • Ability to successfully work with students of varying educational, social and economic backgrounds.
  • Develop strong bonds with participants utilizing SEI’s Relationship Model.
  • Provide classroom instruction and tutorial assistance.
  • Develop, implement and supervise a program of extra-curricular activities.
  • Monitor daily attendance, behavior and academic progress of SEI participants.
  • Maintain updated records and files. Insure confidentiality of all records and files.
  • Serve as liaison between SEI students and school staff.
  • Attend parent/teacher conferences and participate in regular school staff meetings.
Salary Range: $2,500 - $3,625 monthly

Family Technician Housing Specialist
(Full-time position until September 30, 2010)

The Family Technician Housing Specialist is responsible for working with low income and at risk families by developing intensive case plans to address barriers to housing and employment. This is a temporary full time position funded to June 30, 2010. This position reports to the Community and Family Programs Anti-Poverty Program Manager. Self Enhancement Community and Family Programs is located at the OAME Center, 4134 N. Vancouver, Portland, OR 97227.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of case management experience may be substituted for education requirement.
  • Provides intensive case management using social work best practices.
  • Conducts interviews to identify level and type of appropriate services.
  • Assists clients with access to housing, educational and employment services and other community programs.
  • Screens for resources eligibility and determines plan of action.
  • Provides community education and resource services.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Experience conducting needs assessments and initiating support services.
  • Must be highly organized and self motivated with effective time management skills.
  • Must have excellent computer skills; experience using ServicePoint and/or Excel software a plus.
  • Must have a valid Oregon driver's li­cense and be insurable under SEI’s auto coverage.
Salary Range: $2,260 - $3,277 monthly
