NEWS & EVENTS

SEI is in a constant process of activity, growth, and community engagement to help young people realize their full potential. We host frequent EVENTS for our students, for young people in North/Northeast Portland, for our donors, and for the community at large. This site tracks only a limited number of major news items and events; for more information in a particular area, click here to contact the relevant department staff.

SEI also keeps our supporters updated through newsletters and annual reports.

Eugenia Adair Memorial Library

Former SEI Librarian Eugenia Adair developed SEI's library from its inception in 1996 and inspired thousands of young readers in her eleven years in the post. When she passed away in April 2007, the Collins Foundation, which had generously funded the library from the beginning, graciously agreed to rename the 'Collins Multi-cultural Library' as the Eugenia Adair Memorial Library. The library was re-dedicated in a ceremony with the Collins Foundation, the Adair family, the SEI family, and community members on December 17, 2007.
