This is a three year HUD funded program designed to assist low income families with children experiencing health issues related to living in substandard housing conditions. The Healthy Homes Program addresses environmental hazards in the home that harm millions of children each year. The program was initiated to protect children and their families from housing-related health and safety hazards such as mold, lead, allergens, asthma, carbon monoxide, home safety, pests, pesticide residues , lead and radon. The program serves Multnomah County residents who have children 18 and under. To qualify for most services, family Incomes should be below 200% FPL. Families who qualify must have health conditions negatively impacted by the home environment or poor housing conditions. Health conditions might include but are not limited to asthma, respiratory problems, skin conditions and constant headaches.
