“Being a part of the SEI has caused immense growth within my character and has translated throughout my life. I only knew myself in relation to my grades and meekness, but now I have found and exercised my voice, to elevate myself and the people around me. I see myself today as a leader, an advocate and a team player, because of SEI providing me with the platform to tap into my potential.

Walking through SEI’s doors enlightened me. I was exposed to excellence and I see people of color, walking in their purpose and excelling in a way that I had never seen before. This exposure was so monumental for me because I saw myself in them. Witnessing black women and men working together in leadership, power and authority to uplift the generation, changed the way I defined myself. From that moment I knew, I could choose what being a young black woman in this world meant to me.”
