IN SCHOOL PROGRAM

Ensuring student success in the classroom

SEI’s In-School Program begins with students as young as the second grade. Each student is paired with an In-School Coordinator who provides case management, tracking academic achievement, attendance, social development, and progress toward a career path that prepares them to be a positive contributing community member.

How It Works

The key to turning around our educational system lies in one simple word: resilience. Youth need a holistic approach, grounded in supportive relationships. Research shows that a consistent relationship with at least one positive, prosocial adult is the most powerful factor in helping a child overcome barriers to success.

Our In-School Coordinators do just that. We know that different situations call for different kinds of interactions. For that reason, SEI’s Relationship Model focuses on building expertise in the three most influential roles in a child's life: The Mentor, The Teacher and The Parent.
